A Chinese competitor to Airbus and Boeing is close to obtaining commercial aviation certification after completing all flight tests.

China’s state-owned commercial aircraft maker COMAC said Saturday that the narrow-body C919, designed to challenge the dual monopoly by Airbus and Boeing, is close to

obtaining commercial aviation certification after its test planes completed all flight test missions.

“Comac” indicated on its official account on social media that the six experimental aircraft completed the

test tasks with the program entering the final stage of obtaining a

certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China to start operating on a commercial scale, according to “Reuters”.
